Who We Are
WOSDEC is a trusted third sector provider of professional learning in Global Citizenship, who have been working with educators in the West of Scotland for over two decades.
What We Do
We offer accredited Professional Learning opportunities in Global Citizenship and Learning for Sustainability themes, with experts in Anti-Racism, Rights-based Learning, Media Literacy and Peace Education.
Professional Learning
We offer a programme of after-school courses for teachers across our twelve authorities. Professional learning opportunities for 2026 funded by the Scottish Government open to educators across Scotland.
Free Resources
Our practical, active and participatory education resources have been produced with a variety of partners and are free to download and use in educational settings.
Community Work
Our Global Storylines blend drama and story with complex real world issues to bring these to life in the classroom.

We have extensive experience of leading and partnering with other organisations in a wide range of projects which promote Global Citizenship.
Global Citizenship
Conflict, climate breakdown, systemic racism, increasing inequality – if we are to respond to the urgent issues we face today, we need to transform the systems which perpetuate harm and injustice.
Global Citizenship Education empowers learners to understand these systems and to act for a peaceful, just and sustainable future, based on human rights, anti-racism and global solidarity.
Global Citizenship Education is an empowering and transformative process which enables educators and learners to:
critically question the causes and effects of social and environmental issues;
explore the connections between our own lives and those of others;
understand the impact of historical injustices such as colonialism on real world issues today;
develop the confidence and skills to disrupt traditional power structures and take action for human rights and global justice.
