Issue Trees

This methodology uses a simple technique to support learners to ask critical questions about an issue and encourage discussion at home.

Here are five examples to get you started:

1 - Page 4 of our very own ‘Making Connections‘ resource, in collaboration with Glasgow Museums, looks at refugees, past & present.

2 - Page 29 of ScotDEC’s Food and Farming resource, they look at subsistence farming in Malawi.

3 - On pages 60-61 of our Nelson Mandela resource, the issue tree looks at racism.

4 - In ScotDEC’s Our Forest Our Future, they look at deforestation. You’ll find the issue tree in section 3, lesson 1.

5 - Page 13 of Oxfam’s Global Citizenship In The Classroom looks at water security.
