Using Images
Here we look at the power of using images to bring Global Citizenship to life. These simple activities encourage learners to think about how they perceive and understand the world.
Five examples to get you started:
1 – You’ll find the images used in the video above, right here as part of our own Nelson Mandela resource, in collaboration with the Nelson Mandela Scottish Memorial Foundation.
2 – Taken from Christian Aid’s ‘Window On The World' resource, you’ll find lots of images to help introduce pupils to the topic of climate justice.
3 – Oxfam’s International Women’s Day 2020 resource, is full of images and questions to help explore gender inequality across the word and throughout history.
4 – Scotdec’s PowerPoint on Deforestation looks at 10 reasons why forests are cleared; including mining, logging and even shrimp farming.
5 – Another of Scotdec’s resources looks at Mobile Phones and the impact that technology, phones in particular, have on humans and the environment. The images here will help learners think about child labour, consumption, Rights and much more.
